1. Are squirrels considered a nuisance/pest in America and other parts of the world?
2. Are squirrels in parks semi-domesticated?
I wish we had them here, I'd catch them with one of these:
Then I'd tie it up in my back yard.
All we have here are ty possums, which are ugly, vicious and all over everything. Some are so crazy that you can't even approach them with leather gloves on because they'll claw your eyes out.

I seem to never tire of watching them. Their always up to something. I remember driving along a side road when I saw this squirrel crossing the road. I slowed down for it. It was about a metre from the other curb when it saw me coming. Instead of rushing up off the road, the stupid thing ran back across where it started. Goof!
