just curious to know what people like so much about him.. what makes him that special?...

when i saw him on Planetlove this year i only listened 15mins of his set and walked out.

im not saying he is a bad dj, i really like some of his tunes..

boooooooooring. He's a good producer..was..I don't know haven't listened to any of his recent productions but like Tiesto, he should just stay away from the decks.
DJ Patski
Saw him in June for a 6 hour set in Melbourne, production wise most of his songs don't do much for me but definitely still one of the best as a DJ.

From my standpoint, absolutely all. I havn't listened to anything by him in over 2 years, being consistently appalled by his tracklists.

While not having impressive DJ skills, he's quite good. It's his ing track selections that are ing him up. If he went back to the 'Universal Religion' and 'Transparance' days, it would be a whole different ballgame.

i've tried to enjoy him on various occasions & failed miserably.

this has nothing to do with the style of music he plays, as i still enjoy plenty of uplifting/tech trance, including numerous tracks he has playlisted. i just find him hopelessly inept at stringing a set together.. no flow, no edge, no energy, ropey structure & boring mixing

if anyone can actually provide a thoughtful intelligent positive analysis of armin as a dj i'd be genuinely interested in reading it

I could give it a shot

LOL, although I would be writing about what is it that's wrong with him

Armin is always worth seeing but he was so much better when he just stuck to the full on trance instead of the more commercial sound he uses these days. A set from 2004 is like light and day to what he plays now. Only snippets of his sets do you see his best style come through now.

But always worth seeing imo

Please, worship me for I am a God. Here I go do my Jesus pose as this over-dramatic build-up leads to this over-dramatic climax and kleenex rich vocals!

I even can't listen to it anymore.

Trance is dead for me, for 4 years at least.

I think when listening soulful Drum n bass is even more uplifting than any upliftingtyeasylisteningtrancetrack.

Although, nowadays im into more deephouse/techno scene.

Anyways, Armin is a nice guy. Did a lot gigs here in brazil with kind parties (one time seen him live here though)

Just wondering...

Who should just stay close to the decks? :p

pretty much how I feel about armin.

paid 50+ to see him in Toronto and I had such a crappy time.

Thank goodness Schulz played 4 hours of some of the best prog house and prog trance I've heard this year to save the night
