what's up with all the little beeps in minimal house?

is that really considered music???
i dont see how anyone can dance to that, much less listen to it...

the best example I can give (mainly because I dont usually listen to house sets) is some of the stuff that gabriel and dresden plays in their sets, though it's not exactly called minimal house

right now i'm listening to their toolroom knights compilation and the first track on the second CD
Monochrome - "Pearl (Gabriel & Dresden Thirst Remix)"

it's just a bunch of minimal beats and weird basslines

but experimental house like gabriel and dresden - eleven or josh gabriel - summit is something that I can definately listen to (love the tracks actually)

don't get me wrong, G&D are definately in my top 10 producers list, but their dj sets often includes some tracks that make no sense to me

i probably will never understand beeping house music...

I think you're referring to a little something called "electro-house".

Gabriel & Dresden seem to have taken a shine to it in the past year or so.

i cant believe what im reading.

Haha. Beeping music.

Electrohouse I guess isn't something you can rationalize to someone who doesn't understand it. I can't think of why it sounds good to me, but I love it. I guess you can say that the people who don't get electro are the people who cannot completely part w/ their acoustic instruments. Electro is almost completely devoid of such instruments but you can still make purely synthetic music, and arguably, considering you can synthesize anything, synthetic music has the potential to be even more 'musical' as humans term it, although (like I stated before) not if you can't cut your musical umbilical cord (and I'm not making fun of you, most of the world can't.)

Just thinking aloud.

You won't understand any sort of minimal techno or house listening to gabriel and dresden mixes cos the e they produce and play is anything but.

If your going to make threads attempting to explain your rationale for disliking a certain type of music, then at least use artists who have a grain of respect in that sound.

Hmm G&D... so you mean you don't like crap? I'm with you there, but not too sure what it has to do with minimal house.

i couldnt listen to a whole set of it, but i do listen to and respect electro-house. it just gets on my nerves after playing after 45 mins or so
