My sister was put through one of those as a child.
She's now a disgustingly disorganized, incapable lout and we almost went broke trying to support her touchy-feely education.

Ha! They do say no system is flawless.
The trouble with schools is that so often they go too far in one direction or another:
1. The "omnipotent child" with too little direction from adults who are more knowledgeable in some important ways.
2. The "omnipotent teacher" with too little input from the kids who are often more creative and capable of independent thought than many adults give them credit for.
A middle road may be best...

Heh, it was too awkward for me. I can stand watching lots of different stuff, but situations like that make me cringe more than anything else does.
But I think that people have the causal order of this mixed up: kids who get homeschooled by their weird parents turn out weird because they have weird parents, not because they're homeschooled.
