No it wasn't awesome at all. The 1st hour was mint but then he took it to slower than the warm up dj. Then it was a mixture of the same old tunes again. Hasn't he got any new tunes? By the way I am not a Van Dyk hater I think he is an amazing dj who we follow everywhere we can. But this year he has been shocking really. Why does he play so much rubbish in his sets surely he must see that the crowd is not enjoying it like they do when he bangs it out. Armin can keep it up for a whole set so why cant Van Dyk these days. And why does he play tunes in the same order? Is some of his set pre-recorded? Every time he plays 'White Lies' you know its 'Far Away' next and he only plays 'Another Sunday' after the dreadfull Born Slippy/White Stripes bootleg. The fact he didn't play this awful bootleg was the highlight of the set.
We always used to look forward to a Van Dyk set as we knew he would be mint but these days we go telling each other that he will be mint and not the play the rubbish only to be disappointed when we walk out. |
