hmmm... YES i know that... i've been doing it with little volume, but it's a good habit to start using ear plugs anyways...

Thrax and I both have custom musician's plugs that you can get from your Audiologist. Don't have an audiologist? I looked one up on google.

they're low profile, and fit snug 'within' your ear canal. You can get a 25db filter that cuts all frequencies evenly. i.e. same sound, lower volume.

They're pricier, $140-180... but honestly, worth every penny. I wish I'd have gotten mine 15 years ago.

The thought of loosing my hearing someday haunts me every time I step into one of these venues. If protecting your hearing isn't something 'worth it'... then I don't know what is.

Make an appointment today.

I dont know where you live, but I hit up a little place in Toluca Lake by me.

Are you going to spin somewhere loud? ;)

Custom earplugs with ER-15, works great with headphones. It's a shame I keep forgetting them at home! :whip:

i've got mild ringing already so believe me, its worth every penny, even into the hundreds of dollars.

I now use the ER-20's which you can buy for $12.00

I use the Sony MDRV700's and they don't fit too well inside of those but if you have headphones that are deeper you should be fine.

I'm going to be buying the ER-25's though.
Armin uses custom earplugs when he plays (they are black) and he said they work very well by simply lowering the dB and not effecting the frequencies.

I'm like many others, I wish I would have done it earlier!
