| I love visiting bookstores that concentrate in used and rare books. What is so amazing about these stores is that you can cultivate a friendship with some of its employees, most of the times these bookstores are family business. What I love so much is that they actually cherish these books and are willing to educate and inform their clientele that is why IMO they stand out from most corporate book stores and of course you cant beat the price  |

| I always would prefer to have a first-edition hardcover version of a book if I can find it. Something about having a vintage copy of a book thats older than me. Funny thing is though that for a lot of books its cheaper to buy a used early hardcover edition of a book than a new paperback version provided you can find a copy but thats what used bookstores are all about. |

Scored myself Kafka's 'The Trial' |
I read the Metamorphosis and In the Penal Colony for my fiction writing class. Both are good but very strange, and rather depressing too. |

Agreed! That's just what I love about them too. Same with when it comes to borrowing books, or going on a friend's recommendation...if they can give me the actual copy THEY read, I prefer it. :D

Yeah I read The Metamorphosis as well, and I agree about the depressing aspect. But that's what makes it so great, is the fact that it can make you feel that way. |
