i won't be going to MM. the only 2 people i would like to see at MM would be axwell and angelo but hopefully they will make an appearance at avalon for prydz which is where i'll be saturday night.

the last few years have had such similar line ups, wish they would change it up a bit

I've never been to a Massive, so I'm giving it a shot. This thread is not inspiring confidence.

That's cuz all those peeps are over-partied out. :stongue: If you haven't gone to a massive, this might be the one to make you or break you.

If you go, have fun. Will be expecting full details from you on Monday.

Nor should it and with good reason! Monster Massive has been on a slippery slope downwards as the years have progressed. The venue is no good, the kids get younger and the Etards multiply by the dozen. There's no room to move, half of the arena is occupied by people sitting on the floor with no clue what to do with themselves and the worst part from past experiences for myself has been the fact that if you want to be front and center to enjoy the music and the show you must acknowledge the fact that you will be met by people continously pushing and shoving while their sweaty bare chests' greet your back. :p

LOL @ my rant but Monster Massive blows huge chunks and I must agree with Julia: even if our group had free tickets to MM, we would still not attend.

However, best of luck with your first massive being Monster. :D

Who wants FREE tickets? :toothless

We ended up going the VIP route, so hopefully that'll cut down on the sweaty claustrophobia a bit. I've been to a couple of Giants, and the VIP usually buys you a little more space (which I think is always worth it). I'll report back Monday with how many sweaty 16 year olds wave glowsticks in my face and fall on the floor in a pool their own multicolored e-vomit.
Whatever the outcome, I'm stoked to at least try it once.

Optimism is key, mate! VIP should let you breathe some so have fun and enjoy the music! :)

VIP is for losers. The main area is where it's at.

I guess it's just me but I ing love crowds! And I'm gonna be rolling soooo hard :stongue:

Make sure you know about all the VIP sections. There was one outdoor in the corner (I'd say to the left of the outdoor stage...up the hill). The one behind the main stage was wayy too packed last year.

Don't let this thread put you down. Your gonna have a blast! Enjoy!

Well, interestingly, I'd have to agree (although partially) with Julia at the moment. I'm pretty partied out, so strange for me to say, 'cuz I'm so dedicated to enjoying all of these events. I just think vacations are generally healthy. Not just for career or school, from anything routine in general. It gives you new perspective, a fresh outlook, and a renewed appreciation. EDM lives and breathes in me, and it's something I'm extremely passionate about. It's not going anywhere.

That said, the last event I went to in LA was Blank & Jones at Vanguard last month, and the SF Love Fest the following week.

NOW, I'll be going to Monster Massive definitely. I'm really looking forward to sportin' my costume and dancing my ass off. It's been a while since I've been to an event like this (Tiesto didn't impress me much in August). Plus afterparties, celebrations at the venue, ahh... Been listening to live sets for the past month, old and new, so the excitement's been brewing.

I agree that the quality of the event has gone down over the past couple of years, but that could also mean that I'M getting jaded by the same event at the same venue, or maybe the same experience.

I'm really toning down on the events for a while, unless a major DJ/producer that I support comes through that I haven't seen before. That's what really builds up my excitement anyway... anticipation: Richard Durand, Carl Cox and Eddie Halliwell (ok, those two are exceptions to the 'never seen before'), Manuel Le Saux, Hemstock & Jennings, SIGNUM, SIGNUM, SIGNUM, M.I.D.O.R., Preach, Mark Sherry, Deadmau5, ... did I say RICHARD DURAND??? Freshnessss!!

This new outlook will help me save some ca$h to blow away on travel in December... yayuh! Looking forward to 2008 after that. Oh, the excitement.
