I like Digweed but not to be number 3 IMO. Deffently a top 10 guy though and i REALLY REALLY like the fact he is in front of Sasha lol. I like Digweed way more than Sasha do to some personal reasons :whip: but i guess they are what they are

you might be right about that. guess I just didn't pay much attention to digweed this year.

Sharper, you seem to love trance for some reason. I just wanted to ask you if you've ever listened to other genres of electronic music?

I've seen and heard all of your Armins, Fairies, PVDs and Tiestos and they play the same tracks, their own horrible productions and banging 'anthems'. No offense, but why vote for the same people year after year? Have you ever considered giving Sven Vath or Richie Hawtin a chance? Have you heard of other 'Texan' talents like Matthew Dear, Maetrik or Lusine? They are all playing in the best clubs in Germany and around the planet.

For some reason, I think it's mainly ignorance, people are always driven by "mass media" which makes me realize that history repeats itself, wether it is politics or music. People will always vote for the prettiest hair, the nicest posters and the overpriced commercial.

You know the irony of this is that Matthew comes to his hometown, and 50 people show up (I think it was 35 in Austin). When he plays at '10 days off','5 days off', DC10 Ibiza and/or Fabric in London he in' sells out every venue (with and without the band).

This tells you something about the majority of texas electronica fans, I can't picture a scene that will look exactly the same in 10 more years. A scene to remain healthy must keep on growing and promoters need to get their education.

lol - i laugh at dj mag poll. I didn't even vote :) though I'm always interested to seeing who is on it, just as much as you are.
lol @ you blaming me and calling me ignorant for big trance names on the djmag list.
actually, i do listen to other genres, especially house. I support many that come through to play shows as well as tons of local talent. I don't talk about it here, because I keep my love of trance here. I talk about house stuff over on DDM, since that's the majority of talk there.
I've always said it's a popularity and looks poll - it always has been and always will. Don't blame it on me, blame it on society. That's just how the world is. Tough.
many of my all time fav djs aren't even on the list. i can accept this, can you? lol

edit - pllthh, i reread my post and it seems I may be angry. That's not the case. I took it a little offensive, but not as much as it seems i did. :)

good, cuz it wasn't meant to be offensive. It's funny cuz i had a dj from the top 50 in my show! hooray hooray?! :nervous:

BTW, this is not the official list. Good job! Anyways, don't expect much...

Exactly what annoys me about at least Dallas. Even when the "Top" DJ's come to Dallas, they feel the need to play nothing but classics. Example - Above & Beyond two weeks ago. Majority was washed out over played stuff. How about playing the new for once? It's amazing why the Dallas scene has gone from a great one to an ok one....

And it's not about promoters getting their education, it's about the fans getting their's. Whenever someone pushes the envelope on bringing something different, they lose their ass because no one shows up. That's why we keep seeing the same over, and over, and over...
