Another major factor for me is the track layout display, I absolutely could not live without this. For someone who doesn't use it, they have no place commenting onon. how useful a feature it is. Those that do will tell you it is an absolutely fantastic feature.

yeah but does that really justify the extra cash just for bedroom use? |

That depends on how much you want to push yourself as a DJ. |

I have 800's. 800's are fine for bedroom DJing and to cut out your skills.
They are also sufficiently close enough to 1000s that you can make the transition easily.
You can always upgrade later if you feel the need. |

The bottom line is, if you can afford the 1000 then don't hesitate.
|
I can afford 1000s, but I simply cant justify the extra cost to myself (and I've tried). Ive never used the wave display feature on any 1000s I've used and I've spent so many years mixing on CD players with 0.1% pitch resolution that its just not an issue for me. |

| I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't trade the 0.02 % pitch and the wave display for anything. If you can afford the 1000's get them. I still give them a good night kiss every night. |

what do you mean?
Just because you're only going to spin in your bedroom, you shouldn't get top of the line gear if it helps you improve as a DJ? |

It did for me too, saving 3 cue points, and the platter tension adjustment are important to me when im playing hiphop/top40. |

if you really cant justify spending the cash for a 1000mk3...dont
in the end, its you who will be using them not any of use who are telling you what to pick.
imo...i'd rather be content with a piece of gear rather than buying it thinking it'll be a good investment when it isnt...im kinda in the same situation with my cdj800...dont know whether to keep it or sell it since im extremely content with my techs and torq. thought it wouldve been a good buy but now im somewhat regretting spending that cash for something i use so little of |

Another option... combine CDJ-800MK2's with a DVS. Still cheaper than 2 CDJ-1000's, and you'll gain even more features... wave display in the software, hot cues, better looping, etc.
That's if you have a laptop or something near your decks, but it's certainly something to consider... |

To answer the original question in the thread title: YES
Save your money on the 800s and put it toward a kick ass mixer. Or go the DVS route like Ryan said. |
