I need a camera, preferably a compact point and shoot, not a bulky SLR. I'll buy that one later. Any recommendations people? I'm looking at the Canon SD series, but I want to get to know other brands too.

Did already but they all recommend Canons. That's why I was asking about other brands. I'm really reluctant to get a Canon because all the pictures I've seen are grainy. I'm anal when it comes to picture quality.
