As for the event... there were both good and bad things about it this year compared to last
Good:
Less crowded overall, Better Stage Organization, Armin's set was great... so was Angello/Axwell and Markus. Even though the sets are shorter... its so full of energy it makes it worth it to me. Getting asked if I had/wanted drugs and saying "No" because I'm a clean kid. Finally, a little Asian chick that grabbed my hand and said, "Don't be sad... be happy... you're here!"
As per why I was upset... last year's MM was my first massive and my gf came with... this year... 2 weeks prior she left me... and emotions just flooded all night through my head.
Bad:
My emotion being so strong
All the kids wanting light shows sitting all over the place, and always in the way.
Fewer people in any form of costumes... sucks to see that huge of a drop off.
The main stage sound in the stands sucked.
Something in the vibe was definitely missing overall... maybe it was too many drugs in there... I don't know
Indifferent:
Infected Mushroom... not my cup of tea.
Heat - With as many people as are in there... its a given. However... on the sides at the top where people were getting it on once in a while... it wasn't so bad. Yet, in the middle (straight back from the stage) it was so hot.
Last comment:
Have some pictures... and they are up on photobucket... in reverse order...

why does it sound like everyone here had a ty night @ monster?
I had a blast. the house tent was not crowded if you went to the left side of the speaker. I never went back to the main room after IF...way too hot. well yah there's nothing you can do about it.
I think it's important if everyone just goes in /w a positive mindset and attitude, things will turn out better. traffic is a bitch yes, deal with it , we're in LA.

man, i thought the west coast was the place where people were supposed to be chill.
i came in from NY for this thing, and i have to say, i was not disappointed. sure, i woulda liked some lazers, and it wasnt done too professionally, but i kinda liked the 'organic'-ness of the event, you didnt have sponsers, security guards being s, lots of fights, etc.
have you ever been to a really packed show? because it wasnt even half as bad as a pvd show in new york, and i was all the way in front.
the girls looked great, and i woulda liked a little more interest in the music, over the interest in finding a spot to do drugs, but who am i to tell people how to spend their halloween.
armin, opening with release yourself, made the evening for me.
be good, and if youre in new york ill take you to shows that you can complain about, or not complain about :)

The massive 07 was exactly what I expected, and it was sick!!
When u head to one of these , you either have to get there early, or expect to wait in line. Skip will call, and have your tickets mailed.
VIP was definitly worth it, as they were letting people take 4 drinks at a time (did someone really complain about warm water?).
The tunes where unbelieveable (Markus was great, Armin tore it the f-k up and Judge Jules was bangin).
The crowd was great, everyone having a good time, and so much eye candy. Go to a pvd show at crobar in NYC before you complain about the packed crowds and heat.

Posting pics in a bit.. also uploading videos as we speak.. Im rewatching the videos and damn that remix of advanced that judge jules played was really bangin. I think the only way i can enjoy monster these up coming years is to just chill in the bleachers.

It wasn't a remix, it was Joop - The future. Anthem song for Trance Energy 2007. They sound quite similar though :) |

See... I went to have a good time... but had some baggage. I enjoyed the event... but the vibe overall seemed missing something to me. I don't know...
All said and done... I enjoyed it... but that doesn't mean their can't be negative aspects. |

I actually had a great time and I normally hate events like this. But since this was my 2nd MM, I knew what to expect and still wanted to check it out. YES, it is f....n crazy, unorganized, HOT, too many rolling kiddies and e-puddles, somewhat shady, but we're in LA and it's at the Sports Arena:eek:. What do ya expect?! But knowing this going into it, you just try to look past that and enjoy what you're there for! (or hope you do) Of course, plenty of Vodka helps too:D
The worst part was getting into the place. I won't even go there.:wtf: :whip:
If you like to drink:D, having VIP I thought was way better. (hence the plenty of Vodka). The great VIP/bar area was on the right side of the stage with plenty of seating and unobnoxious lines and great bartenders- pourers!:eek: The left side was beyond ridiculous and we pretty much avoided it!
I thought Armins tore it up! His set was fantastic! Couldn't believe it when I heard Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound of Goodbye!! & Adaigo for Strings!
Markus set was really good too.
Really don't remember much of Judge Jules set! :eek:
Overall - really glad I went! We'll see about next year!;) |

for reals, you just gotta look past all the negative. cause overall the djs threw down and if you paid at least paid attention to the music youd have an awesome time.
i agree the bartenders were trying to get me wasted last night with the amount they would poor. |
