Just seen this on chemical records website, it seems to be similar to serato except it doesnt use hardware, you just plug your turntables straight into the laptop. Has anyone heard anything about it or used it before? Its much cheaper than serato so i was wondering if theres a catch.

| Of course there's a catch. I used Mixvibes a long time ago when it first came out before I got Serato. It sucked. Yes, you need some type of (decent) multi input/output soundcard interface to use Mixvibes. You can't just magically connect turntables to your computer without one. Very misleading. Horrible support (unless you speak French), very buggy and unreliable software. I'm sure things have gotten better now, but unless you already have a good external soundcard and don't mind confusing setup and configuration menus in poor English, I wouldn't waste my time with Mixvibes. If you want something simple and plug and play, stick with SSL, Torq or TS. |
