I'm with phlog.
Last time i did acid was 11 yrs ago at 19..not for me anymore...
but neither is salvia...
I literally thought i was dead : saw my whole life flash be4 me, from being a kid, thru grade skool, to high skool...
saw my mom and sisters crying at my funeral...
And i thought i was on my way to talk to God, (thru darkness with that light at the end in sight)
wondering how i would justify dying by overdosing on drugs
And this was at a friend's house, so as i started snapping out of it, i was calling
for him coz i wanted to make SURE he knew that me dying on his bedroom floor wasnt his fault, and not to let it haunt him...
HAH, then finally i realized i had hit some salvia and snapped out of it.
I've found that THATS the key : the second you remember that you smoked salvia, your trip ends, and ur back into reality.
Anyone else notice this??
Coz while ur trippin, salvia doesnt even cross ur mind, ur just trying to comprehend what the you see and feel... |

Ayahuasca definitely isn't considered "a nice trip". Its tough, gruelling - a journey by the true definition of the word. It really isn't considered a substance of use for recreational psychonauts. Make sure you take it near a bathroom - or have a bucket close by. |

Agreed - though necessary for all at different times, the death of the ego is a terribly painful experience. |

Is ego death the phenomna of not knowing that you exist anymore???
I have read about before but I would love to hear an experiance about it.
I believe that there are claims that such state can be also reached by meditation... not 100% sure tho |

Not entirely, although I suppose it's definition is different for everybody (the nature of the individual experience is archetypal, though still unique in its dressings). It really is, as they say, beyond the words of explanation - but a simple summation, at least from experience, would be this: the complete dismemberment of what you went in thinking defined yourself - call it a stripping away of the self down to the bear minimum of functional needs, and the realization of the trueness of the unconscious, and the falsity of the rational manifestation taking place in the current ego of the current. It feels a lot like the death and rebirth scenario: you feel yourself stripped down to an infant mind, and then its a slow rebirth into a new method of thinking.
To endure the experience, and emerge from it, is truly the most blissful, ecstatic thing I've yet encountered; however, the journey down was also, by far, the most terrifying and painful. |

Salvia Drug Craze Sparks Concern
Teens Bragging About Hallucinogenic Trips
PHOENIX -- Salvia, a legal drug more potent than LSD, has recently gained popularity among teens and young adults.
Available online and in smoke shops, salvia is a plant that causes hallucinations to those under its influence.
Scottsdale teen Jake Posso tried salvia three years ago at age 15 and said his first trip caused him to see checkerboards across the sky.
"I've seen more things on salvia than I've seen on acid," said Posso.
The drive for the drug is increasing as teens brag about and even post their experiences with the salvia on YouTube.
One video on the site showcases a teen on hallucinogenic trip in his bathtub acting as if someone is attacking him.

While many teens are describing the drug as "the best legal high there is," the drug itself has proved dangerous.
In 2006, after using salvia for several months, 17-year-old Brett Chidester of Delaware zipped himself in a tent and set it on fire.
Valley drug counselor Sean Walsh said compared to other drugs, hallucinogens are more likely to lead to suicide.
"Every kid I've had come in who hallucinogens are their drug of choice, every one of them generally has anxiety disorders or depression," said Walsh.
Salvia's newfound popularity has raised the question of whether it will cause long-term side effects.
The drug is currently illegal in eight states, but Arizona is not one of them.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is investigating salvia, but said it has not set a timetable for a decision on whether the drug should remain legal at the federal level.
Researchers said they believe salvia has medicinal value for treatment of psychological diseases like schizophrenia and Alzheimer's, but said they would still support a law making it illegal to people under 18.
