I highly doubt Menno would pack a club out in NYC......there just isn't enough people that know of him yet regardless of how good he is.

I never said he would....that was Kelly, but I did say I would like to see him ;)

I disagree with zack and eco. Certain DJ's would be better at certain venues in my opinion. I liked spirit but I never went because they didn't bring the proper talent that I wanted. I hate pacha so I'd not go even if my favorite dj played there. Crobar was ok but the security got a little sketchy over time so I stopped going.

Love was a great venue when I was there for sasha. It was a great time with a chill crowd. But put someone like PvD in there and I think it would suck. Not because the crowd size but because I dont think the venue suits his style of music. So yes, at least in my small world, certain dj's are better suited for certain venues.

I love james holden but seeing him at Pacha was a disaster. If he was at Love, I'd go there for sure. He's a much better small venue DJ.

Can you imagine Tiesto at Love? The nightmare. ouch. Even with crowd control, the meatheads would be all over that place and meatheads + Love don't mix in my opinion.

I would love to see Fedde Le Grand here. After what I saw last weekend, that music he played is just ridiculous! :eyespop:

Where was this Mike ????...

Marcello I wasnt saying anything about you darling ;) Reading back on my post, i didnt intend to direct anything at you....) I was just saying I realized how weird for me it was to mix bizniz with personal . I am leaving it to the promoters thats all. ;)

And I think its always good to bring back people who left a great impression on the audience they played for, because, isnt that the point of bringing new people? to get their name out to a small audience and have them spread the word? And to diversify the scene? I mean seriously, I am not one to talk, I go to ferry, sander, armin, tyas, and all these regulars that come, but honestly, if there was something new and interesting that was brought into the scene that were my tastes, I would 100% be supportive (think: Thrillseekers, marco v, ben simms, perry o'neil, etc....). Unfortunately my tastes dont nescessarily align with the househeads this thread was made for, but there are enough househeads to support those gigs.

in terms of menno, I def dont think he would pack out pacha or something unless it was with another headliner but I think that he would do well in a smaller venue.

No offense dude but you're naming top 20 DJs... Our point was on a very different level, not about top 20 DJs, but people who aren't even reaching top 200 but people on THIS board wanna see... Agree with you but I think you missed our points...

I'm not disagreeing with you on any of those points...but as per the first post in this thread, they weren't asking people about booking the biggest trance djs in the world...in fact quite the opposite since they specified 'we only book house djs'

My original point though, was that promoters DO listen to people when they are asked who they want to see.

Overall, I honestly think NYC is finally getting some momentum back, and is continuing to keep EDM at the heart of the city's music. I honestly think if a few more big rooms open up with EDM featured on a fri/sat night, we could almost be back to the good ol' days by the end of '09. It took time for the clubs to work through the new regulation, but it's time for the madness to return.

You can even see that in Made Event's further progression... 1-2 big parties a month 2 years ago, compared with 2-3 big parties a month + 3-4 small parties with smaller names a month, not to mention people like Basic or People or Core or Massive who've sprung up... There hasn't been a weekend in a whiiiiile where I haven't had a good choice of good parties to go to, and I'm under 21 and alreayd a bit limited, wait til I turn 21 in 2 months, goooodness!

I was happiest when we were playing in pubs for our friends...The rest was just a huge headache...Our last little party at Crudo was a huge success in my eyes,, 'cos even though the rain kept most people away there were 30-40 people there having pure fun..

The idea was good but just the venue sucked. I didnt liek the layout of the place much, allthough the back outside area looked good and but we couldnt go out cause of the rain.
