don't believe in interpreting dreams...when i was little i used to tihnk that my dreams were like a TV, because when i had nightmares i would just "change the channel" to something not scary. |
I used to be able to do that when i was younger, whenever i feel some nightmare is about to begin i either wake up or stop dreaming |

Actually...
dreams can sometimes or atleast -for me- be some sort of premonition
o-o i know it sounds weird but, out of 5 dreams, 3 of them i have lived through.
once i had a dream .. very weird dream in fact.
I was walking on the street late at night, alone, and out of nowhere a car passes by and starts chasing me everywhere i go-- and i start running away from it, but however nothing happens to me.
like 2 weeks later, i was walking late at night, ALONE -- and basically just like my dream a car passes by, yet the reason why is chasing me is because im about to get kidnapped o-o
so yeah, premonition or weird coincidence?
My mom is kinda annoying when she doesnt have a job-- so i had a dream that she had gotten fired and my life was misserable cuz she was always home-- and i had to do a lot of chores..
next day i think about my dream and wonder what i would actually do if my mom got fired .. it would be hell.
4 hours later i come home and my mom has gotten fired// coincidence?

Urgh, I'm really quite jealous of those people (apparently almost everyone) who can sometimes remember their dreams. I never have the slightest hint of a memory of a dream when I awaken.
Interpreting them is probably just foolishness, but I'd like to have the experience. I've tried everything, though, and it just doesn't work; the only thought in my head right after I wake up is the overwhelming desire to go back to sleep. |
You've never been able to remember details from a dream before? What about the overall feeling you get from the dream? I would think that emotional response would be wholly unavoidable, given some dreams I have had before, and would assume the same thing for other people... though I guess I have only ever had my own dreams to draw experience from.
I guess I am selfish in the fact that I simply love dreams and I even enjoy telling some people about my dreams on occasion, but in general, other people's dreams are one of the things I care least about in this world. :stongue: So yeah, haven't really read anything else in this thread. However, if you don't actually have a single dream memory throughout the entire course of your life... well, you have my sympathy. We should start an Arbiter Dream fund and hold a benefit! |

I'd really love someone to interpret my crazy dreams :D Talk about a challenge....
Edit: Also I have quite a lot of dreams where I die. Or rather I have dreams that I know that WHEN I die I'll wake up. So I merrily jump off a cliff or something equally bizarre to wake myself up. And sure enough, I always wake up. |

| whenever I interpret dreams it usually ends up meaning the person wants to bang their opposite sex parent. |

| Why would you want someone ELSE to interpret what goes on in YOUR head? I think that ultimately, it's up to YOU to interpret your dreams and find the meaning in them. And why wouldn't you want to? They're the key to so much of yourself. |

I rarely remember dreams. But I started taking multivitamin pills and noticed a significant increase in my ability to recall dreams, especially in the mornings. Some research indicates that vitamin B6 promotes this ability. I have experienced it myself. You may want to give it a try. The results were pretty dramatic, atleast in my case. |

i feel terrible for those who can't remember their dreams, or those who claim to never dream at all. i've been such a vivid dreamer my entire life, and even when i can't remember exactly what i was dreaming about, or if i forget what happened in a dream throughout the course of a day, i still can't imagine what it would be like to never have (or remember) dreams. it's just such an interesting and entertaining process for me.
then again, sometimes i am forced to deal with negative emotions that i experience during an intense dream, and there have been times when it took me days to shake a bad or weird feeling that developed only because of something i dreamt about. sometimes it's just totally pointless, and it puts me in a ty mood for no reason at all... but other times i realize that the emotions are trying to tell me something, trying to give me a message regarding my life or something that's going on in my life.
that's about as far as i go when it comes to "interpreting" dreams though. most of my dreams are far too random for me to make any sense of. lately, it seems as though i've been having more dreams (or maybe just more stuff happening in my dreams) every night, and they're always so vivid and intense. i've even experienced two dreams in the last week or two where i awoke from a dream within a dream. i've never had that happen before - i woke up from my real dream and realized that i was having another dream inside that one - and it was a total mind. |
