Rockstar better back this up with the psychological horror and moral decisions they are hyping.

I'm not one to get all jumpy about violence in video games or movies, but from the looks of this game...that's just sick.

I thought they were overreacting excessively. Guess not.

I prefer the executions in the original Manhunt.. No motion blur or splashes of blood on the camera covering up the good stuff ;)

you know you can use cheat cd's like gameshark and action replay to remove the blur effect.

I've always figured it was getting what it deserved, just based on what I'd heard about it. Claiming that Halo & Goldeneye or even GTA is going to up minds is one thing (though, despite enjoying those types of games, I still think it cheapens the value of human life, which is another problem altogether), but that's just plain wrong. Censorship's not quite ideal, but stuff like that certainly tests one's stance on such an issue.

The released version has a scene removed. Apparently you were allowed to castrate someone with pliers.

Guess the ole ratings board didnt agree with that.

I'm sick of ratings boards, if I want to play a game let me. I dont give a if they think its bad, I want to play it. Dont tell me what I can and cant do like that. It was refused classification in UK and Ireland, that, if its released for PC I'm importing it.

Well they are there for a reason...to let parents know what is and isn't appropriate for children or for certain age groups. Mature is the equivalent to an "R" rating in the states, so no one under 17 should see it without a parent's permission.

It should be left up to the parents, not the government, however there comes a point when something like this game...when the violence is so grotesque and the "value" of the game...is minimal to non-existent that you have to wonder what is going through the minds of the designers of the game (and those who play it).

Don't get me wrong, I have played violent games since I was a child (heck Wolfenstein 3D was one of the first FPS I played and I was around 6 or 7 and I started playing Doom, Quake, Goldeneye and Turok at 11) and am not offended by killing or gore in games, but when I saw that video of the game..it made my stomach churn. Who gets off on this stuff? Socio-paths? It's not what I call "entertainment". The GTA series is pale in comparision to this game IMO. It's almost up there with the Postal series but those are quite comical and exaggerated..this is too realistic.
sleepydragon
that game is sick lol.
its sad to think that some 10 year old will play games like this
