I listen to some minimal techno, but not a lot so I'm not sure if this is technically it. I like this one, but now that I've said that I'll slowly hate it when it's finished. :p

Critique/comments/nitpicks/etc. (I'd like to know how my mix sounds especially) please :)

nice intro is very original and chilly.. its very cold.. :p

not big fan of minimal myself.. but it still sound a bit empty in my ears.. like you could still fill it up with more sounds.. i know its ''minimal'' :p

cool tune but it can only be nicer..

I liked this.

The male pad in the background reminded me of Tool - Mantra.

The snare you've used doesn't sound great, sounds like an FL studio default sample.

Also your main kick sounds like it was made using FL Kick...not necessarily a bad thing (I like the sounds this makes), but I think it should be toned down a bit, it's very overpowering. Reduce the sustain a bit and make it more "clicky".

Other than that; good. :)

The beginning sounds like a modern sci-fi soundtrack... cold, errie and harsh ("let's hunt some xenomorphs").

I think you could make the kick "click" a little more by layering a very tiny hat sample that is very quiet, has some resonnance, and has a very steep decay.

I think you could be a little more creative on your snare, sure... but it was too quiet when the kick was around. The snare sounded cooler without the kick.

You could have the mix change up a little. Have the pad become more harsh over time. Make some more diverse noises. You could have even changed up the bassline a little bit by making it drone instead of walk up and down and having an alternative phrase.

Good... but could be better!

Thanks for all the comments you guys.

I'm working on a remix for an FOEM contest that shouldn't take that long, so after I'm finished with that I'll come back to this and make some changes.

Everything you've all said I basically agree with, :)

The snare is very plain, and the kick does sound like an fl kick lol (it's a basic 808 kick atm) And the track definitely does need more variation.

B_man: I never would have thought of your suggestions, I always have a problem with getting new ideas once I have the basics laid out in front of me. So thank you very much for those, man.

Thank you everyone, expect an update soon. :D

ohhhhhh this is sounding safe.. well done on the production, for fun I'd add something not-so-minimal here and there. Like a 1/4 trumpet with tons of reverb but the reverb comes in a good half a second later, knawmsaaaaayin brah????? haha
