Currently sitting at number 30 in the World DJ poll, producer and remixer ANDY MOOR will be headlining at RISE on Friday, November 23rd.

A mixture of hard work, determination and raw talent has catapulted Andy to the status as one of the most definitive and influential artists in the dance music scene today, although to pigeonhole Andy to one genre of music would be a crime in itself.

Andy Moor is a born musician, and as with any truly world class musician they can turn their hand to produce the epitome of ‘amazing’ in any musical genre they so desire.

Based in the UK and still only at the age of 26 he has an enviable Discography. He is a third of the legendary Tilt and last year saw the release of their debut album ‘explorer’. This year will see the eagerly anticipated Leama & Moor album which includes a variety of msucial styles showing how versatile Andy is as a producer. Other collaborations include being half of 2004 trance act of the year ‘Whiteroom’, 2005 was the year of the infamous collaboration with Above and Beyond to produce one of the years biggest tracks ‘Air for Life’ (which went on to win the 'Best Trance Track' at the 2006 'Trance Awards') and was also the year of the massive solo production ‘Halcyon’ along with a string of high profile remixes.

As a DJ Andy provides the weekend soundtrack to many of the world’s most prolific parties and festivals taking his own version of modern day dance music and pushing boundaries with his flawless technical ability and dedicated ear for uncompromising musical set structure. Fans love him for the way he remixes other peoples tracks just for his sets to keep it fresh and unique, realising the need to make every performance that bit extra special. It’s not surprising that whilst fresh international demand surpasses the logistical ability of one man, it is the demand for ‘more Moor’ from the promoters and clubbers whose booths Andy has already graced that cause such a hectic DJ schedule.

We're lucky to have the oppurtunity to have Andy Moor visit RISE and looking forward to it.

Opening for Andy Moor will be TYLER MICHAUD. We first met Tyler years ago when we started coming to RISE and since that time Tyler has worked hard to make a name for himself with releases on numerous labels including Armada Recordings, 3Beat Music, Baroque, and Aurium, while having been playlisted by top international DJ's including Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Markus Schulz, and Armin van Buuren.

And in the Lounge, SOUL CLAP returns. This duo is setting an example with the amount of work they put into the music they play and also with the amount of energy they put into introducing new people to electronic music and the venues and parties they play at. Frequently found playing at the Phoenix Landing, Middlesex, and the Good Life, as well as at events such as Dancing on the Charles (which they co-founded with Marz Entertainment), Hearthrob, and Thunderdome, they’ll also have a new residency at RumBa at the end of the month.

definitely a great night at rise... busy dance floor and well-delivered music. i sadly missed tyler's opening set as i was finishing up my own gig that night, but i heard it was tight and professionally done. this does not surprise me based on what i heard from him at the Paradise party in St. Maarten over Labor Day.

andy Moor is a name I've known for years, so I was quite interested to hear what he was all about. his music was a hybrid between prog and trance, blasting out somewhere around the 132 bpm range. not quite as housey as steve porter, but not as trancey as pvd, etc. he found a good groove in the middle and really worked it. lots of tougher tracks instead of the fluff which looses my attention. at one point at the end of the night, andy mixed into a total yawn-fest of a track, and the floor cleared. he cut the music and yelled to everyone, "was that a bit to girly for you all?" then slammed in some banger. revived the floor... funny & classy recovery. for me, my one criticism is that every track he played had at least 2 breakdowns. maybe that's indicative of the genre, but i found it tough to really get into a groove. with the wonders of editing, i would have liked to have heard more connector tracks and fewer mini-symphonies.

all in all it was great to see so many young faces at rise, which has been a demographic we've struggled to attract over the past few months. people were dancing and smiling and hugging all night. guess trance still works!
