| The thread How is Judge Jules live? got me thinking about this one so I'm interested in your view points? Remember this is just your opinion, not trying to start any wars here! ha ha ha |

By last nights performance.. tiesto is over-rated, but i know he can do better than that so im not gonna say that. the most over-rated DJ i know is dave pearce, he is all over ibiza in the summer, but unfortunatly he is crap.
As for most under-rated.. Matt Hardwick. He is hardly known outside the walls of gatecrasher where he has his residency, but he is easily as good as the likes of PvD, Tiesto or somone like that. Another one, thats more unknown than under-rated is lucien foort. dutch dude, very very cool on the dex, great stuff heheh :D

| I would agree with you on the Dave Pearce thing except I don't even consider him to be a DJ he's a radio personality riding his notarity to the clubs and that not cool... |

| i agree. oakie is over-rated. he just doesn't try like he did a few years back when i still thought of him as a good dj. :) |

to tell you the truth although i like most stuff he does i would have to agree with infinity and say most overrated is Jules. He's like the one DJ that even if someone has no idea of trance music, could name of to you in a split second. Sadly to say also i think Carl Cox is a tad overrated.
Underrated i would have to say people like Guy Ornadel and Mandy Reid, who always seem to play a blinder when i hear them yet ain't recognised that much as top class DJ's.
Anyways, peace |

ahhh YES!! thats another one!
Guy Ornadel.. i agree with ya there.. he is very very underrated.. his mixing is pretty imaculous.. and to me.. hes a bit of a Dave Seaman mixed with a bit of Scott Bond there..
Carl cox is very talented... and being in the industry for so damn long.. i think he knows his place more than most other djs.. =p |

I just heard Guy play this past week-end at PASSION and he absolutly stole the show, he's and amazing DJ.
Don't know if I'd consider him underrated though he's fairly popular. |

Overrated: DJ Jean (heard him spin his records 5 times now, and all 5 times it sucked like hell),
Carl Cox (17.000 dollar for a 2 hours set is too ing much for this simple sound he produces....it all sounds the same)
and maybe also Tiesto (His mixing skills are good, but his record choice is always the same)
Underrated: definitely Olav Basoski (He's a dutch DJ, and not wellknown in the rest of the world, but he ROCKS),
also i think Sander Kleinenberg is underrated... he's awesome!

As far as I know, Olav Basoski is NOT a trance DJ. He spins Funky House, which I REALLY enjoy dancing to. Lately, I actually prefer dancing to Funky/Jazzy House and Breaks over most trance (except maybe GOA/PSY trance). I haven't actually heard him spin live yet, but when he spun at a party in Vancouver a few months ago, I heard SO many people telling me how amazing his set was.
