Danny Howells Appreciation Thread

I've been listening to his Nocturnal Frequencies, Vol. 3 mixed compilation and his July '02 Essential Mix this morning, and it's striking to me how many styles Danny Howells has adopted over the years and how brilliant he is with each. Whether it's a liveset or a cd, he's never disappointed. It would be very tough to try and rank my favorite sounds from him since he has spun everything from downtempo to tribal to funk to progressive house/trance to deepsexyfuturistictechhousefunk over the years. I'm curious what sound he's been playing lately, as I haven't heard anything from him since last Spring.
So yeah, appreciate. |

Right now he's playing what he's always played - own you in the ing face music. :p
The only DJ I've seen who has never once disappointed me is Danny Howells. The man is the definition of the word "genius" when used in reference to DJ's. |

That's about the best way of putting it that I can think of. I really need to see the man live. Do you have a favorite set of his? I'd be hard-pressed to pick one. |

Well beyond all of his EM's, my all time favorite is something you've already listened to: Nocturnal Frequencies 3.
One of my all time favorite mix compilations, and probably my favorite official "release" set of Howells'. |

I knew there was a reason I respect your taste in music. :p
NF3 was actually my first EDM cd - I heard a friend listening to Creamer & K - I Wish and was like "wow what is that?" so he burned me a copy. :) |

loooool @ avatar!
And ok, I was dancing within the first 3 seconds on part 1, so this is definitely a download! Thanks Woscar :)
Also, Danny is by far the DJ that I most respect. He seems to work so hard at it, and is always having a good time. I'll never forget seeing him at Global Gathering 2007, though I wish it was for longer. Next time he comes to the US, someone PLEASE let me know :D |
