Ok, now its true that there are some songs that are definitely trance. But I always find that there are some trancey songs that are considered as house, progressive, or basic techno... etc.
So how would you define 'trance music'. Is there something in the beat? Something in the drum sounds? Or is it the presence of some kind of synth? Or just the general feeling of the song??
Thoughts please...

, what is trance music?
umm...for sure though, trance definitely relies on the synth. trance is named just that for a reason, it makes you feel like you're on a high without the mary-jane. ;) trance music puts you in a state of mind like no other.
definitely makes you feel something. happy, high, sad, relaxed, etc.
i know i'm being a bit general here but the question is pretty damn difficult. hehe. |

| Ok,this is what trance is.Trance is named cause its supposed to put you in a trance-like mood. Its been described as danceable Ambient. Its a Techno derivative normally played around 140bpm and it usually has a four-to-the-floor beat. There is much repetition provided by the arpeggiators. You should listen for synth effects and complex layered sounds. The music often builds to a crescendo many times in a song .This is what trance is |
