Numark Axis 4 question

I've been wanting to try djing for years but never had the cash. The other day I got 2 Numark Axis 4 cdjs which i'm still trying to figure out completely. The thing that is really messing with me right now is the tap counter on one is never remotely near the one on the other. I'll be playing 2 of the same track and one of the bpm #'s is roughly double the one on the other cdj. Is there a switch or something that might have caused this?

CD players are notorious for not having accurate beat counters. My CDJs will constantly tell me that a 130BPM track is playing at 90BPM, or 16x BPM.

I personally haven't used Axis 4s yet, so the only advise I can give is to match the tracks by ear and ignore the display for now. If you have to, you can get the BPM reading the old-fashioned way (count beats for 30 seconds, then double that number), and let your ears be the final judge on the mix.
