| Hoping someone can help me out. I opened a doc file from my hotmail(without saving it to my harddrive) and made a few changes to it and then saved it. Anyone know if I can still find this file somewhere on my comp?? I opened Word but it doesnt list my most recent docs. |

| In Word, click File > Save As, and that should show you the directory where you saved the last file. |

| No luck. I ran a search and it couldn't find it anywhere. I shoulda saved it directly from hotmail instead of just opening it. |

Did you do what I suggested, or just tried a search?
Try to repeat the task - open a file in Hotmail, edit it, and click File > Save As.
It should be in your temp directory, or one of the temp internet files directories in Application Data\[browser type] |

Did you just click save...or save as? if it was the default save, it is supposed to save to the location from where it was opened...but since it doesn't write to attachments in an email, I think you may be ed.
I did the exact same thing just last week and lost about an hour's worth of work when I couldn't figure it out either, lol :/ |

As DigitalMP said you should try looking in your temp folder.
go here: C:\Documents and Settings\ *USER* \Local Settings
do a search for all .doc files. see what comes up. |
