No need for a sticky, just put it in the tutorial master list.
My screen is already showing 5 of 14 threads as stickies. I'd prefer not to have to scroll down each time I open the forum. |

Nobody listens to reason anymore... it's all stupid titles. |

I will say that my I have more respect for Reason since I investigated it more, and took a look at their newest toy: Thor. I use to believe that Reason was nothing more than a glorified package of non-expandable VSTs (figuratively speaking), and thus found it too self-constrained.
I suppose in an ideal world that I envision, Propellerhead would package their synths/effects as VSTs and sell them at the pie-slice rate (Subtractor, Thor, Maelstrom, etc). That would be awesome, but definately not realistic. Yeah, I know all about Rewire, but since I pay for the software that I use... ... I am happy with what I got. |

haha!! seems like to cope with. I got that pissed off a while ago when my power crashed and I opened the file I was working on before to see an error message "Unexpected exception" or something stupid. My file is still locked, and I worked on it for so long :(
Try to ... fix your windows :toothless |

Dude... I have a P4, 2.8Ghz and 1G of ram and I still complain about my sequencer's function (FLStudio)...
Still, Reason is a fairly tightly-written program... ESPECIALLY since they do not allow external programs to be used within it's setup (VSTs). It's fairly predictable, and Reason can easily run with the specs that you provided. There has to be another short-end of the stick that you aren't telling us.
Didn't you try a demo first? |

I know it doesn't help, but I haven't had any problems with Reason upgrades. I started at version 1 and it's been fine all the way through to 4. I just wanted to provide a different perspective. I love the way propellerheads do business. Nice decent gaps between versions, massive changes between versions and very low upgrade costs. Live has upgraded a couple of times since I bought 5, and I look through the features and try to work out the massive new functionality, synths etc which require me to upgrade and I just can't see the massive "headline" changes. 5's working great for me (I rewire it and Reason into Cubase). I'll probably forgo upgrading and just buy a new version (8 or 9 or 10? Whenever it turns into a new product which is significantly different). It seems like buying a new version at full price will be cheaper than going with Ableton's upgrade costs each time. |
