Woke up at a few hours ago at 3am and still wide awake... working on a tune I neglected for a bit and I think something randomly weird happened to change the entire sound of it. I added some chords on the bass which I never do, but check this out and tell me what you think. What you hear is how I feel right now :>

p.s. so I might need your opinions on what builds from a break better -- the first part or the latter? I know a lot of work is missing but I'm getting the bare bones down first

p.p.s. what do you guys usually eat for breakfast I'm really hungry :o

I'm really enjoying that hypnotic organ-synth. Then when you layer those melodies on top I was pleased to listen to how well they fit.

The bass in the track is a little dim in terms of clarity, but that's probably these headphones that I am using to listen. Besides, that organ synth occupies too low a register to create a bassline without worrying too much.

The second part is definately ear-candy when the hypnotic organ synth starts to slide. That was good.

Definately a good start. I would work on some more layers, maybe arrange a part or two where the chord structure remains static before the hypnotic-organ starts up again (kind of like a break, and this is only a suggestion). Keep it up.

Wowza thanks B_man, noted your comments!

I have one question about the bass now... boosted the lows on it, but it had this 5step delay on, I provided both the samples in the zip file and tell me what sounds better to the ear cause I can't monitor on what I'm using at all right now :S

woha i like your melodies and synthwork. Very hypnotic :). What did you use to create those?

For my taste, your choice of BPM speed and beat elements are not good enough. The clap seems not to fit, sounds to present and removes bit of the atmosphere. (headphone review :p )

Can't really hear a good bass, i think with a deep bass it gets even lusher.

But i really dig the synths :) awesome!

cool man so I'll play around with the perc and mastering.. using reason's thor

I'm also producing on crappy 50 dollar speakers :[ Waiting for the akg's to come already

I really value the feedback people give here so I'm coming back for round two!

i) I'm wondering if this is long enough for a peaktime
ii) There's two bass variations for the peak. One descends the other ascends (like normal) the descending line (starts with the high note and slides down - sonicweirdbass.mp3 44 seconds) is also used in the intro to the tune and maybe it would be stupid to use it here, hence keep things like the static ascending bassline?

If you guys get around to listening to reviewing it please tell me your take... thanks

Dude, I love this.

I think I like the non-weird one better.

I think the chords that come in threes starting at about 48 seconds are too loud and too harmonically/sonically similar to the lead and covers it up. I'd think about pushing these back, since they don't really need to be that far up front... or lower them an octave, or choose a different sound.

Anyway, it's pretty great, and I'm looking forward to hearing the final product! Send it off to labels, please.

Thanks for the comment, three eff oh five que! I felt that the weird bass should be kept in the intro and the chorded lead needs a bit of fixup. I think I'm done!! Thanks for all the help

gonna have to agree.

you got some nice sounds goin on and all, but it's lacking some sort of 'glue', which would hold it all together. :)
