Review of Quivver & Seaman at Rebel

This was a great show so it deserves its own thread. what made the night great was that I turned to my side at one point while seaman was playing and who was standing right next to me like a regular joe but quivver himself. in stubbles with a tee just standing there watching the show. I was thrilled to see that, although no one in the crowd seemed to know the guy or came to shake his hand etc. I shook his hand and told him I'm a big fan of his productions (quivver has always been one of my top 5 producers), I snapped a pic with him and we just stood there talking about music stuff like twilo etc. he's a pretty cool laid back guy. it made my night to be standing there, hanging with quivver as we rock out to seaman, I mean how how sweet is that? :thepirate
anyhow, I got to the club before 12, place was empty except for some drunk girl on the floor. the guy who was spinning, probably zack roth, played good house (his gf took over the decks occasionally), and then quivver came on at 1:30 and dropped a great (but short) set. he closed with dancing in dark rooms at about 3:00 if I'm not mistaken and seaman took over, played a rockin set that kept my legs moving, although I mainly went for quivver. rebel isn't a bad spot, although the sound system doesn't come close to love's.
all in all, a great night with awesome sets by 2 great names in the business who don't grace us enough with their presence in NYC..

I think your time slots are off a bit (John came on at 1215ish, Dave went on around 145 I believe), but it was definitely a great night. Def a late crowd, but filled in quite nicely by the time John got going. There were some issues with a slow moving line right around midnight, which had a lot to do with it, but once that was cleared up the room looked good.

Both John and Dave did a great job, with Dave throwing down some VERY hard tracks by the end. Great sets all around.

Fun party. I wish I caught more of John Graham's set but he got off shortly after I arrived. Would like to see him play an extended set soon..
