nikos, you promise this place is actually any good? so far, i've been to 3 greek restaurants, and they weren't that great: venus, artopolis, athena (or something. the one in greektown with the outdoor seating). i guess you can include that gyro place on the corner of jackson & halsted.

what should i be eating over there?

I've eaten at 9 Muses, Athena, Pegasus, Greek Islands....At first I was thinking maybe it was the certain restaurants till I discovered that I'm just not a fan of Greek Food (I do like gyros sandwiches though). Kind of bland and tasteless for me.

that's how i felt about the stuff i had. venus had some good dishes, but the 2nd time i went there it tasted like the chef dumped a few salt shakers in whatever pots he was using. gyros are awesome for sure. that's why i was asking whether nikos knew of any good dishes...

My dislike for greek food may also lie in the fact that I'm not a very big fan of lamb meat. Lamb has this kind of metallic taste that kinda bothers me. Now Thai food....cook that up and just throw it at my head!! Love me some Thai food. Penny's Noodles on Damen/North - amazing.

gonna have to mention El Barco on ashland. Mexican seafood. Massive servings, cheap cheap price, some really good food

i'm there.

gonna have to agree with haider. there is absolutely nothing remarkable about greek food.

i've started to become very fond of polish buffets lately.

there's a place called staropolska on belmont which is basically all you can eat for like 8$ and they have dozens of dishes AND GOOD BEER.

everytime i go there, i get nostalgic - its traditional eastern european home cooking.
