| I kind of agree with you, but whenever I play a music video of Kate Ryan, I get this warm fuzzy feeling inside..... |

Trance is not an important genre in France, but France does have great electronic music. In fact, I would say that France is competitive with Germany in being the most significant country for electronic music (not dance) history. What made France not very compatible with trance is that it has historically preferred the more 'organic' forms of electronic music, with roots on musique concrete, where all the sounds had to be taken from the 'real world'. The opposite happened in Germany, where the synthesis of new unique sounds was essential for the development of their brand of electronic music. That is why Germany gave birth to Kraftwerk and then was the birthplace to the evolution of European techno and trance, while France had great house, tons of amazing experimental music, idm and the genius of Thomas Bangalter!
This was the legacy of some of the most important pioneers of electronic music history: Edgar Varese, Pierre Schaeffer, Iannis Xenakis and Pierre Boulez, the founder of Ensemble InterContemporain (IRCAM), arguably the most important electronic music center in the world.
I'd rather listen to some good refreshing and funky French house a la Daft Punk/Thomas Bangalter than most of the generic fluff that's coming out from trancedom. |

well i live near a club called "Reaktor" where talla 2xlc & dj tandu are very often playing |
often would be exaggerated...talla2xlc only played one time there...but that night was awesome... :D
reaktor is nice although the universal d.o.g. is more famous for its techno and black music partys...we need more trance here in south germany... :whip: |
