Hi guys, I'm getting a undesirable phased sound when I render a lead (ie.) that comes from Superwave Trance Pro.. Anyone know about this and how to solve? It's a bug? Happens only when Render to Disk option... |

That's normal. Try to place some chords in the beginning of the track to sort out the phasing. Automate the volume fader so that it's not heard in the track.
There are FAR better softsynths for making supersaw sounds. Try Synth1 or Xhip. Both are freeware. |

Hi Eldritch, tks for the reply.
But why it's normal? When I'm playing in Live i'ts ok, but this happens only when I select the option "Render to Disk".
The sound comes phased in the wave file only with Superwaves TP sounds "and also" get phased in Ableton Live normal playing for about 3 minutes.. After that the Superwave get normal still I do not use the Render to Disk function again.. strange..
I think this is a Supewave Trance Pro bug no? Seems that the superwave oscilators of Superwave TP get synced at render time without any detune between the oscs and this is causing the phase, like a bug causing low frequence oscilations between oscs.. really strange.
ps.: And this happens not in initial length of the song..
help?

I do not use the Trance-Pro, but the P8 (freeware)...
The only time you are going to have the Superwave not phase-out is if you are using both the "single" osc options. Personally, I have had this problem moreso with basses... with leads it's been subtle enough to actually be a good thing at times. When it comes to supersaw leads, the metallic sound that I get might be some of the phasing, I dunno, but I have not had it so terrible that it is not able to be used - IMO. When I use the "Friend's Electric" preset of the Superwave P8, I do not hear much detectable phasing (still the same amount of white noise, etc).
I also use FLStudio (not Ableton), and I doubt that the VST rendering output engine is drastically different enough to warrant this. |

The reason is that the developer hasn't applied any phase offset to the superwave oscillators when the engine is initialized.
I believe it is a limitation in SynthEdit which is what Superwave was made with. |

Hey B_Man I don't like that uninvited metallic sound in my leads :D |

i've had annoying sine waves jump into my mix downs before but it was because of my audio converters. i was trying to render at too high of bit depth for some some synths.
try lowering your render to 16/44.1 and see if its still there. also what's your sound card? |

Eldritch, now I undestand what you say, and you'r rigth man! The metallic sounds appears only in when the device is started and it's really an error from the developers, the oscs starts very synced causing phase but about 5 seconds playng it's unsynced again and normal..
The volume automation trick works!
Much aprecieted your help man! tks!
I own a real JP-8000 but not using here at the moment so I'm testing some superwave VSTi's and was thinkin in a probably Ableton Live bug but not, all right with Ableton's! :tongue3 |

Hey Eldritch, I liked the sound of Superwave Trance Pro dispite of problems..
It's really similar to the real JP-8000 sounds but more raw.. the JP-8000 sounds more smooth and consistent.
The Synth1 seems to be cool because a lot of people love it but it do not comes with actual presets? U know a good soundset for it?
I'm trying a good supersaw vsti to cooperate with my jp8k.

I also used to use superwave trance pro but as a replacement for my JP8080 but it just didn't have any power to it and sounded a bit thin.
The very best emulation I've found is the RB2K1 Emb for reaktor.
Only down side is that you have to have NI Reaktor but in my opinion it sounds so close to the real thing I'm selling my jp8080.
