i think it's hard to have a designated in/out door in certain buildings because sometimes the counter (if you're in say, a convenience store or gas station) is on the opposite site of the "designated" door. i just always make sure that if i see someone else coming i'll try to walk through the opposite door, or i'll hold the door open for them after i walk through.

the worst is when you don't know whether to push or pull and you attempt the wrong one and make a jerk of yourself in front of lots of people. :(

I considered that. If you are only using one door though, it means it's pretty much going to be open constantly.

Was it mentioned if these doors had outside access? I know that many establishments will lock one of the double doors that is always getting caught by the wind which prevents it to close as designed.

...to think that when an establishment has two doors in it's entryway that one is 'In' and the other is 'Out'? I view the doors like road travel (at least here in the states), where traffic is on your left.

So then, why is it that I'm finding more and more places where one of the doors (typically, the 'Out' door) is LOCKED! Why not just have ONE door? And if you're going to lock one door maybe put up a sign that says "Yes, we have two doors here but one is locked shut. We are waiting until the other door wears out before we unlock & use this one. Using two doors at once just seems like overkill LOL. Please use the door that is unlocked."

I feel like such an idiot when I walk up to a perfectly good door and expect to walk through it only to be snubbed completely.

Also, I did some research and found this:

Weird.

Because an open door for drunks usually means that you can get in there when in most cases you can't. Gets awfully tiring after a while.

I take it you've never worked in the hospitality industry?
