Helloooo everyone. Been working on this little tune, it's proggy I guess and a bit of fun. I've finished the framework, a.k.a. the whole tune and now it needs a spit and polish. Thought I'd post it up now to get some hints from you all before I do more work on this and grow tired of it. So let me know what fills you up with hate!

YES! Another P.E.G. tune! Kant Wait!

We start the Four-On-the-Flour off with a juicy moog bass grinding away at a non-off-beat ommpa (I shall call him... minimoog [pinki's-up, gents])! We have these straining stringy synths throbbing away at a gated rythm that introduce this well composed synth-guitar riff that introduces a little more tension that is diffused by a dramatically changing chord structure that is a little unorthadox -- yes, indeed! The hats take on a good minimal breezy-pace before another stuttering synth part begins to slide underway with a marching clap sending off some more climatic bassline change-ups.

Another guitary-synth variation, and the idea is being re-worked with these musical passages that attempt to reinject some new life into the concept before it begins a long winded outro.

No long-winded breakdowns in this piece. Just a steady flow of pounding synthy stormage that isn't overdramatic, but solid proggy phrases with an epic feel.

8.4/10 (I would gladly play this on a CD if I bought it).

Starts off with a cracking bass line. Really driving. Kick works well as well.

Melody is nice, develops and builds at a good pace. This track has a real old skool trance vibe about it which nowadays is a good thing even if it does sound a litlle dated.

By the drving feel of the bass line, I would have been sure this track would have a big breakdown. It doesnt and thats really refreshing. You manage to keep the track evolving and the pace never lets up.

Are you the same peg that made Chiba? That was a great tune, one that I bought and played over and over.

Thanks a lot for the comments :) I've got a lot of polish to do on this but I'm glad you like the fundamentals as they stand. G-Con yeah I'm the same p.e.g that did Chiba, thank you very much for buying it :) And B_Man, why the name change?? I was wondering who you were :D
Thanks again for listening!

this is really nice :) umm not much else to say hehe
i like the melody, the way it doesn't seem to be a huge focus on the track. it can still be uplifting or melodic or whatever but without a long breakdown and huge build up. anyways yeah :)

hey mate cool tune.. nice intro, i like that stutter pad..also dont really got much to complain..maybe turn up the volume of your ride hats just a little.. or just give the tune in its whole a slight treble boost.. just a suggestion. cool tune mate, liked it.

like the bass, beat etc... good buildup, doesnt get boring - i hate boring intros, and this aint one of them - good job.

I reckon that at 1.25 that melody type thing could have some more effects put on, such as delay, reverb etc.... but its still good on the whole.

but cool stuff, better than mine at moment - but im getting there
Aesthetic
i really enjoyed the bassline and the mid bass in this one phill.. the percussion and everything else is top notch. nice melodies but not amazing either ;)

Thanks for your feedback! I agree with those comments completely, more fx needed on those main plucks at the start, more volume with the rides.

Glad you appreciate the arrangment, I've been working really hard to get away from the usual structure, and create a more free-flowing kind of song without the usual breakdowns etc.

Thanks for listening!

hows it going phil?

typing as i listen........

would give it the melodic/uplifting genre rather than progressive although it is more minimal. back to the trance roots i guess without filling every inch of space available.

melodies are great and sounds are equally enjoyable. the more it plays the more i want to remix it.

couldnt really fit into a set of mine as it has has a real old trance feel but worth every listen. a bit more up-to-date and it would be a winner.

keep it up!

I thought this is a weldone track, not to special i.m.o. but a very decent one.

Say did you also made the track 'Chiba' I did liked that one very much :)

Hey Phil :D

has been a long time since i heard a track by you.

this one starts very solid with a combination of bassdrum and bassline which is pretty much "in your face" :D

percusion nicely fills it up.

the synth introduced at 1.25 is cool. very unusual but great sounding.
i love how it evolves when you play the chords :).

the way the whole track evolves is very good work and remmbers me of classic trance buildups, nice to see youre not falling into modern trance stereotypes.

here and there i missed the use of a breakdown.

production is pretty solid and i see very much positive aspects.

nice one
:D
