Universal Religion 2008 compilation mixed by Armin van Buuren is out on Ultra Records - December 4th, 2007.

The album was recorded live on August 21 in summer 2007, during the Armada night at legendary Amnesia nightclub. On the live element Armin says, “It adds to the feeling, the experience, so you can feel like you’re there, having a great time with your friends.” The unplanned set list became the perfect CD release: a spontaneous selection of records that embodies the timeless Balearic sound of Ibiza against the buzz of a crowd enjoying a world-renowned club and their favorite DJ. “I had the first two tracks lined up, and the rest I just chose as I played, gauged on the reaction from the dancefloor,” says Armin. “Tracks like Big Sky, Sunlounger and Daydream are pure Balearic gems. It’s scary to record something live but once the music starts flowing you lose yourself to it”.

Yeah, too bad he chose ty tracks and couldn't pull off ONE decent transition

L-O-L
This is my fav. of the UR CDs, I was there in person for the 2nd one
and it wasn't as good a party as the CD might sound so I never really
enjoyed it that much, this one I haven't been to, but it has a lot of
great tunes this year, especially the 2nd half of the CD.
It is a live CD, it's not perfect and it's not intended to be.
But you're obviously too much of a moron to understand that.

Did you actually listen to the CD ?! What is "obvious" here is the fact that this compilation is full of trainwrecks. Give it another listen dude. Even if it is a live performance, Armin's mixing is terrible, and not just for one transition or two.

I have, quite a few times now, but I don't nitpick, I knew what I was getting before I bought it.
So he might have been nervous, or the balcony at amnesia was shaking, or he might have had too much to drink that night, whatever the reason is or was it doesn't matter, you should take this CD for what it is, Armin at amnesia in 2007.
I find it funny people first diss the songs selected for the mix, and now mixing, it's a no win situation, to be honest I don't think this type of ASOT trance or whatever you wish to call it is for you, I'd suggest to choose something else to listen to.

I guess the real reason behind his poor mixing is that he doesn't care anymore. ASOT07 had some very bad transitions too, and it wasn't recorded live.

Well, so long as he continues to think that he has the best mixing of any trance DJ, I don't see why we should expect anything different...

So, you were actually expecting a fest and you bought it anyway?

Do you realize you just made one of the stupidest arguments on the history of TA? Accept the facts, your favorite DJ, the "#1 DJ in the world" released one of the worst compilations of electronic music ever. He selected pop tunes disguised as Trance and then mixed them together in an abysmal way. Not one thing you say is going to change that, so don't even try.

I find it funny how you defend Armin no matter what. I guess that's one of the side effects of being "AvBdiccted"

Don't expect everyone to praise crocks of just because you do. There are people who can actually discern between good and bad music, programming, mixing, etc. and give specific, coherent arguments as to why. And yeah, sorry...you're not one of us.

Believe me, I don't need anyone to tell me what type of music is for me and what to listen to. But you sure are right about thing...this "ASOT Trance", as you called it, is definitely not for me as I don't like bad music.

Glad to hear it, with all your wisdom I will expect you to stay out of AvB related topics from now on.

Let's proceed to the next topic...

Sorry, I didn't know you had to like something in order to write about it here.

And I wouldn't go as far as to call it "wisdom". Common sense is more than enough in this case. ;)

So let's see, you don't like this type of music, as you've just admitted, but yet you feel compelled to start fights and argue with people that do, I don't know what that is, but it sure isn't common sense.
