Howdy Folks,

Anyways I got three new tracks up on my myspace page. They are nearly finished, it only needs a little more love and some possible vocals. All you guys have such a great ears for great music, so I'd love any input you can give before I finish the mixes.

Here is the webpage.

percussion is a bit too loud for my taste, mixing needs to be worked at, i am talking about no title song, you got a concept, you need to make some kind of story out of it with more sfx, need some drum rolls here and there at the end of every second phrase or so, you got the skill, i just have the feeling you do not know how to apply some of it yet.

Hmmm, not a big fan of the percussive samples you are using at all. Not a bad song otherwise but the overall mixdown has level issues with the percs.
I think given that you are using very live sounding percussion and kick (Sometimes not a bad thing) gives it a very loose almost sloppy feel to something that could in my eyes be a very nice track.

Breakdown comes in nicely but doesn't tease enough to really drive him the energy when the track resumes.

Keep working on this though as it sounds like you could make this sound quite epic.

Good musical knowledge at work in there.

Good job.

Cheers

I like the track but I wish you used different drums for this.
Of course this is just one man's opinion but I think it would be a better track with tighter beats. The clubby, housy percussion does not do it for me...

Thanks so much already for all the constructive advise. I'm really seeing what you guys are saying. Can anyone tell I'm used to producing ROCK. hahaha. My drum sounds really show it. I'm pretty sure I can switch out the samples and remix this. Any ideas or examples of the types of samples I should be using for drums? I'd really love the help. Again, THANKS SO MUCH, and KEEP IT COMING!!!

IMHO this track would sound good with a tight and deep kick. As for the hats I'd say try to keep it simple so that the drums are more of a moving force rather than an instrument. Don't know if that even makes sense but that was my 2 cents :)
