One of the founding fathers of Underground Resistance as Minister of Information alongside colleagues Jeff Mills and Mad Mike Banks, Robert Hood distinguishes himself with a sparse, minimalist sound. After collaborating on several UR and X-101, 102, 103 releases, Hood left Underground Resistance to develop a solo career that has seen releases for the likes of Axis, Cheap, Metroplex, and Tresor. Upon founding his very own M-Plant imprint, Hood paved the way for a wave of stripped-down dancefloor centred minimalism that echoes throughout techno's contemporary manifestations.
For this Toronto appearance, Hood will be throwing down one of his infamous Grey Area sets which showcases his own renowned productions and remixes from the M-Plant, Duet, Drama and Hardwax catalogues, giving Toronto a glimpse into Hood’s multifaceted musical experience that spans both house and techno.
Beginning in Detroit and now a leading citizen of techno’s international community, the Toronto presentation of Robert Hood continues Tempo’s connection of the local to the global.
