basically, mashed plantain (which isn't really bad for you) + fried eggs and any combination of fried stuff to go with it. fried cheese, fried salami, fried sausages, or fried longaniza (a spanish style sausage) |

meh, mofongo is just mangu with a little garlic and pork in it. not near as artery clogging as the fully wide-fried-spread you can get with mangu.
