This is an interesting drum kit you've chosen. The kick is more click than thunk... not necessarily a bad thing if the other elements compliment it... so let's listen on:
I hear a very subtle bassline roving up. It is also accompanied by computer-glitchy noises and a digi-lead of sorts. In a way, the kick fits this schema of elements, and in other ways it doesn't. I would personally use this kick as a buildup, and replace it with a kick that has a little more chunk in the bottom end, and maybe add a bassline. A bassline is not essential, but the mix will sound a bit cold unless there is enough bass frequencies to fill up this whole. Maybe you want more of a tech-sounding prog here, and I respect that. Keep it up...
Then the whole track starts to quiet down. Too bad, I was just starting to get into the groove of things and was hoping that it would evolve the idea further. |
