Echo of Silence
I'm sorry, if your state voted for Bush (which I think GA did), the people of your state are considered by most of us to be 1)uneducated and 2)Christian, in which case praying for rain probably will get you reelected.

Lake Okeechobee, Florida.

It's bad everywhere!

If we could get fresh water from the ocean, enough of it, problem would be solved..

why not? hes not forcing anyone to pray. nor specifying what religion... the whole "separation between church and state".... was made for good reasons, but its getting ridiculus how people are so angered about him holding a prayer in the state capitol.

It is a waste of taxpayer money. I pay taxes; I don't like to see them wasted on something like this. I also vote; therefore I have a say in civil matters and when it comes to the government being used to organize prayer sessions, I think it is wrong.

Well, church goers are tax payers too..

Unless the guy is using prayer as an actual policy, then there'de be something wrong. Nothing wrong with praying, then getting back to work trying to solve the issue. In their belief, god will help them in their work as they try to solve the water problem. Sometimes, spirituality can help a person's morale through hard times..

Saudi Arabia has one huge facility. I think the US in the southeast should have one too.

No one said he couldn't pray. But using time while he is working for the people to organize a religious function I think is wrong. I don't care about the "In God We Trust" stuff. I don't care about certain religious symbols and whatnot on government buildings . . . I do have a problem with a function that is clearly religious in nature being organized not just by the state government, but by the governor himself.

but isnt the cost of desalinization cost prohibitive? i remember it was something proposed a while ago for california but it was deemed cost prohibitive. i dont really know much about it other than the basic process of it all.
