Bernie Ecclestone has reportedly signed a deal with an Indian company to build a F1 race-track near New Delhi.

According to an Indian newspaper, Ecclestone has signed a contract with JP Associates to develop a site at Greater Noida, which is around 50 kilometres to the east of India's capital city.

The deal, which will run for ten years, will allow India to host its inaugural Formula One grand prix in 2010 as previously planned.

The Indian GP circuit is set to be designed by architect Hermann Tilke, who recently inspected the venue.

Awesome. :)

F1 is a private company. If Bernie wants Hermann Tielke to be a rich man, so be it.

I never heard of this Cape Town GP anywhere else.. you sure this is real/confirmed? :conf:

The other new, confirmed street circuits (Singapore, Valencia, Abu Dhabi) all look very cool, specially Valencia, can't wait for that one.

after I saw it mentioned furgther up the thread I googled andasked a friend from CT whos an F1 nut, turns out it was proposed in 2005 or 2004, and found to not be viable. after looking at the circuit they were working on, it wasn't so great anyway.
