I guess this would be some stuff that DJs like Luke Fair, Desyn Masiello, Deadmau5, Perry Oneil, 16bit Lolitas, Jaytech produces and plays.
Very trancey with happy vibe. In some cases, it's pretty much trance at 130bpm.
I don't think this will become extremely popular, but seems to attract both prog house and trancers. I know I'm attracted to to this stuff because well, it's got more trance elements than a lot of trance tunes these days. And it's bouncy, happy and fun.
What do you guys think of it? |
I like it a lot...ditto for what I'll call uplifting breaks, lol. A really good example is the Hybrid mix of R.E.M. "The Great Beyond".
IIRC, Hugg & Pepp (John and Jesper Dahlback) produce/remix some good minimally, proggy trance/house stuff...not 130bpm, more chill, from what I recall, but haven't listened to newer stuff they've done.
I like that the lines continue to blur....as I find typical trance to be pretty crappy these days, but still like elements of uplifting trance mixed in with other genres.
hell, even G&D's stuff qualifies, IMHO, like Dangerous Power. definitely has trance elements, but not really "trance". |

| I highly recommend Fine Taste (plus their Chunk & Twist alias) and Jaytech for this genre. |

I basically live in this genre. My playing style in a nutshell.. |
Ditto! And I agree, Desyn has definitely been moving towards a lot crunchier, heavier music... I'm still in total awe of the FBI 945 radio set from 2 years ago, though. I've definitely heard one or two Low End Specialists sets that fall into this genre from a few years, and Demi has happy, funky moments, too. I think the problem for a lot of people is that it's too dreamy--not really something you can jump up and down and pump your fists to (most of the time). And Luke Fair is da --the Sweetchilli sets he has on his website as promo downloads are in-ing-credible. |
