Like i mentioned in another thread, when does the 'style' of trance played by the DJ matter on who is opening?
Yes, Nick has the closest style of trance to PVD, so that automatically qualifies him to DJ?
No offense to Nick, I just don't understand the people saying:
"yes i voted for Nick cause he has the same music style has PVD"....
If you want to vote for him cause you like the way he DJs thats cool, im sure him or any other of the 3 DJs would do great anyways...

They all send invitations, they all talk a lot about it to their friends and fans

Batz has his own clientele, Pilon reaches all his friends on the north shore etc, Insomnia has all the Pompiers fans + older clientele, same thing for ulrich ...
Free promotion to the whole trance community from ottawa / montreal area / a little bit of TO
+ huge mailing list with approximatly the kind of people who voted

I can see your point about getting great promotion out of this for the DJs but this seems like a 'who is more popular' vote....and not necessarily the better DJ
Either way something new so works too i guess.....good luck to Nick and all the other DJs |

Aint about promo for the djs... im saying that they are using those djs to push their event and they all 4 have the exact clientele they need for the show
And that is also why they will have the vote going on for a bit... to make sure the hype is at its best till the last day... which is very intelligent |

If you read closely i said what does it matter the style of trance, not the style of genre, yes a trance DJ opening for a house DJ or vice versa, would be dumb.....

I'm only speaking for myself here..but I voted for Nick and not for the others because:
1) Love Insomnia, but I see her all the time.
2) Same with Gab, love th guy to death but I think he's a much better producer than a DJ.
2) Ulrich, he's great at what he does but the stuff he plays isn't a 100% my cup of tea.
Nick on the other hand, he in rocks as a DJ. His mixing is tight, his track selection always blows my mind, and he's just all around super fun to watch and I truly miss seeing him play, as I haven't seen the guy since he opened for Ferry at Aria. (a hell of a long time ago).
And also, his dream is to share a booth with PvD, and I'm all for helping someone making their dream come true. :toothless |

3. The chance to realise how our djs, but before all friends, are treated... I agree with King Louis 100% ... hope the pay considers this... but i doubt it, like if a 10$ rebate to customers will settle this. If the contest was not pre arrange and thought of, how come tickets are now 10$ lower with the contest, and the artwork done to announce this on a flashmedia website ? This is not for fun. Lacks respect for our locals work... They don't invite professionals to participate in STAR ACADÉMIE or CANADIAN IDOL, no, they book them.
But hey, i'm not a dj and they asked me to vote, so vote !!! |
