they closed at 4:15 in the morning. I think they go till 4 usually.

Crowd wanted more when they stopped Vibe. Still a good amount of people left.

i think it all depends on the crowd that is left...

What's this talk about tribal? DJ Vibe played more than just tribal. Even that Chus and Ceballos party at Stereo was much more than tribal.

All these guys, Chus and Ceballos, Vibe, Calderone, Santana, Bailey, etc are playing a new sound that is full of variety.

For example, at Vibe he played a lot of minimal and techno bombs. On a good enough soundsystem and with a good enough DJ, those bombs he played may sound like tribal but really it isn't!

Bring him back on January 1st! (He's in Montreal on NYE)...lol

Honestly , I was a little skeptical at first going to see them because their recent sets do not scream tribal... AT ALL.... BUT this was TRIBALICIOUS ... and they definitely delivered tribal!

In fact, this party reminded me of their style back in Boa days, their FIRST time in Toronto, in early 2005. They have never played like that again. PURE percussion and Iberican Sounds.

Don't get me wrong their was an influence of other sounds, not uncommon. But you cannot say this was not a tribal party!

First of all, I am NOT a tribal fan anymore (haven't been for over 2 years really) and have to say Vibe did a good job of playing a genre I don't really care for anymore...therefore, I mostly blocked it out.

His last 1 or 2 hours or so were fantastic....the Vibe that you hear on his downloadable sets. Very much enjoyed that and rescued the night for me.

BTW, all these so called "tribal" DJs are doing what most talented DJs are doing...evolving and MOVING ON...Vibe's last hour was more progressive and some tech house than tribal. Calderone at CirCa's opening was almost all tech house and minimal...with very little tribal...and that was a fantastic set from beginning to end. Diversity in live sets is key now as most genre's are crossing over and the lines between genres become blurred.

I would love to see Vibe somewhere in Europe or maybe South America where I guess he must play live more of what he plays on his recorded sets. Anyone know?

Overall, fun night. But not very musically fulfilling for me.
