hey guys, im looking at multimedia system for my car.
features i am interested in are:
navigation
cd-r/rw, dvd+/-r/rw, mp3, wma playback
perhaps a harddrive to store music on
perhaps an SD memory card slot
also a double DIN unit too
im hoping someone out there has had a good experience with one, and will be able to reccomend something truly usefull and cool!
ive done some research, and know a little bit about what is out there.
but maybe you will know more than me!!
EDIT: thanks! haha |

| I would suggest simply something with good USB playback. I'm in love with my Pioneer DEH-6900UB. I never need to burn cds for my car again. :) |

as above. half the headunits out there have usb support.
and get a 2.5" laptop HDD in an external chassis since they are powered through their usb cable. and have it organised similarly to how itunes organises it. most units can navigate through folders (like 6 deep)

| if you got some time on your hands and the know how I would get a desktop and put it in your trunk. my cousin did that to his 5 series and its awsome. he attached the tower into the wall of the trunk with a nice big fan to keep thjings cool and ran the video signal to an alpine in dash screen, attached a touchpad from a laptop to the middle console and has a wireless keyboard under his seat. Hes even got wifi on it so you can pull up somewhere and dl music, check maps etc. |
