Female Vocal samples
View this Thread in Original format
Reno
Hi everyone,

New to this forum having only recently discovered...cool!!

I was wondering if anybody has advice on where I can get some top quality female vocal samples and acapellas. I don't mind paying for them if they're good. I preferably want to avoid a cd with one woman's voice doing all the samples. Also I wouldn't mind an entire verse.

I've basically never attempted to add vocals to my music (except once)and think it's time. I use Reason so I guess I could import via the samplers but I've been told I should rather rewire into Cubase and process the samples there.

Last question...If making a track where you intend to use a sample, do you think it's best to get the sample first so you know what key to create the track in?

cheers

That certainly helps. The alternative is using software to pitch shift the vocals to your track's needs.

For your situation though, I'd not recommend that. For just starting out with implementing vocals, I'd do what you stated and decide on the samples first.

Thanks for the advice. 400 sounds quite steep but will check out a demo hopefully.

What software will change the key of vocals without changing the pitch and how accurate is it?

cheers

the audiodemos are fixed
Reno
What do you mean fixed? Presume with software you can do anything to them?

I just had a look at the link actually. Was a bit worried when I saw something about vowels!! Don't want to end up with the alphabet sung by 5 women in 37 languages!! lol :haha:

don't have sound at work so can't hear the demos!!

there must be something out there much cheaper than can be used for this.

anyone know what or who andy moor uses?

i usually cut up vocals and put effects and stuff on them but there must be something else you can use.

Cheaper? As in the price of a beer?
I'd look in your own network of friends etc.
There is bound to be some girl (or dude, if you prefer that)
that has a somewhat decent voice.
Or maybe try someone on myspace.
