Deus Ex on Windows XP?

have been playing a bunch of old games i missed because my computer used to be . picked up a copy of Deus Ex from a friend, but he did say he had never played it on XP. apparently, there are some issues.

so i installed it, but whenever i click PLAY, i get this huge ass error message. excerpt:

any ideas? i wanna play :(

Are you running on the most current patch? What about your windows version? According to net-wisdom, it should run fine on XP. Were there any strange installation errors? Try flipping between OpenGL and Dx, make sure you're patched up, and make sure your drivers are up to date.

you should see if there's a patch for it I've got the game of the year edition and it runs fine on my comp with xp

have you tried playing it in windows 98 compatibility mode?

tried win98 mode.

installed new drivers for my vid card.

still get the same thing

w00t. got it to work after fiddling with some drivers, and reinstalling the game. pretty cool so far.

ps: paul is a fag.

Weird; I had no trouble running it and I didn't install any patches. I also played it again recently; awesome game :D

The GOTY edition works fine. The older one needs a patch.

PS. BEST GAME EVER! :D
