First of all, can I say that I am disgraced that nobody apart from some guy in the Canada Music Section has discussed this on here? I'm quite appalled actually! :(

What a massive massive loss to Vinyl Distribution in the UK and Europe this has been. I've lost count of how many of my vinyls I've bought over the years had been distributed by Amato, they were fecking superb! I respect them so much for getting the music I love to the record shops for me to buy. I owe them a lot for that!

But now they have filed for bankruptuncy and are in liquidation....who knows what the future holds, they were bought out by Unique previously and it seems that they were still doomed :(

Is this proof that vinyl is dying a slow death? :(

Heard about this the other day and was incredibly shocked - didn't believe them for a while because it was such a large distributor!

I wonder what lead to the bankruptcy?

I see vinyl becoming more of a 'special order' product soon. Not that the format will completely go away, but that fans will have to order from the labels' websites instead of being able to walk into a record store...

CD singles seem to be going down that same path:(

Bloody shame!

many labels will go over to wordandsound so it shouldnt be a problem.
