Yeah, but you aren't very smart, so you're probably wrong. |

Hahah burn baby burn.
I'd say it's... Commercial, cheesy, not-too-vocal, un-sunshine, overglorified neofart-house, and a poor example of it.
With the emphasis on the words; commercial and poor.
That or my sig. |

Probably jumping on the bandwagon there, but I never quite understood what people heard in this. It's quite caricatural, yet not cheezy enough to be fun, definity not "house" as I see it (this track don't induce to my frail body and mind some uncontrolable body shaking) and the vocal part is nothing to write home about.
In my oh-so pretentious stance, I like to think that the tune title did help this to reach "stardom status", as an odd reminiscence of the famous Rolling Stones song.
Just one of those songs that gains unbelievable success for no special reason, bringing fame to its author (which likely will forever live in its shadow. I'm deep today, heh)
I guess it is somewhat hard though. Hard-Fart House? |

It's a popular song... therefore it is pop.
That's logic for you. |

It is safe to say it is electronica
from there I would geuss it falls somewhere between
Techno
House
Trance
Down Tempo Euro
So electro house is a safe bet, but I would classify it as "techno"
It uses fairly basic elements, a squarish saw tone sound
but uses other elements and structures in other versions..
it is that sound you get from a variety of what sounds to me like pop clubby housish
The original is major slow in my mind, good house tends to have a "better thicker groove" The use of the electrodrone oscish sound doesn't quite capture it..
weird part is.. electro in my mind is NOTHING like satisfaction.. it is a whole different reality. so as far as Electro house it is an easy lable but I'd sooner call it oscasa than electrohouse just to save electro from being assosiated in anyway with the structure of electro

What are you on about? You can't be serious. |

Wouldn't the pop moniker be suitable for music that is designed to be popular? Maybe Satisfaction was indeed tought in tha perspective, but its success reached unplanned heights: maybe it tells us something on the public (why this song and not another, since there seems to be nothing that remarkable there), or something like that...
Smells like Teen Spirit was widely popular yet you couldn't call it pop. |

it achieves its purpose, in making people dance
specially at high school parties. |
I never found it extraordinarily danceable. But maybe that's just me. |
