1. Mclaren is a BAFFOON. To start Carson instead of someone (anyone!) with more experience was absolutely ridiculous! Factor in the messy pitch, the torrential weather, and the importance of the game ---> and that all adds up to: CARSON!!?!?!?
2. Wright Phillips over Becks - is a fair argument… I won't put the fault with Mclaren in his decision to start SWP instead. Becks has really only played 1 full game since coming off injury. Having said that - Mclaren made a mockery of the entire Becks situation - dropping him from the team entirely when he is clearly still a leader and an asset to the team - which he was again proved yesterday.
3. Crouch's goal was a beauty. Becks cross was superb.
4. The Defoe penalty was if anything a foul on Defoe… We didn't deserve to tie the game -- in the end we deserved what we got..
5. I truly think Mclaren used the game to try and save his job rather than concentrate on the game itself. If Carson performed well and the pace on the right worked out, and England pull it off ---> Mclaren's job is saved… But - this was no place to take that risk! Even had we pulled out a draw I would sincerely hope he still would have been sacked prior to the euro's…
In the end - We deserved what we got - Mclaren has ruined my summer…

Good on ya for being so rational/reasonable - MUCH respect for that.
McLaren DEF made horrible decisions, starting with the abandonment of Beckham...
Altho i'm not a fan of his, u can't go from frikkin captain to not even being called upon!
HORRIBLE decision with Carson - ONE cap and he plays a game in which they NEED a pt.???

And i have to add 4-5-1 is just not England's game.
First time ENG played CRO he used a 3-5-2.
So 2 games, he uses 2 diff formation that ENG NEVER uses??!??!
Stupid, retarded, dumb, whatever else adjective u can use....just not good managing. |

Yah - Really... What really is Mclaren's claim to fame?!? A UEFA Cup semi-final comeback where he simply subbed in a bunch of attackers who got the job done... Thats enough 4 him to be England boss? Truth be told, I don't think anyone really wants the ENG job - what with all the press...
As for Carson - one more thing - HE COULD'NT EVEN CLEAR THE BALL!!! every pass was nervous - he looked SCARED! I would have subbed him at the half - ballsy, but neccesary. One of his two saves was off his ing face! Sure - a save... but ugh.

| Far be it for me to stick up for McLaren but I wouldn't want that job. Until you live in England, you will never understand how fickle the press can be. Sure, you should be able to deal with it at that level but they take you from being God to the Devil and everywhere in between - that's got to be tough in anyone's book. |
