really liking this man.
the rolling synth reminds me of the old bxr sound but used in a slower track. this is the sort of track that would be tearing the dancefloor apart at my fave club of my city. throbbing bass.
your weired vocally synth is quite haunting.
great job man. |

Hi,
This is a very balanced and well made track, but I feel maybe a bit on the tame side. I think it could benefit firstly from some long modulation and phrasing. You cite Minilogue as an influence, and I think for instance this is one of the things they do best, that is phrasing and creating tension and release in their tracks. You create some tension but it doesn't really go anywhere.
I think the various parts of the track are too separated in the final product and that maybe you could have them work together to create a more intelligble groove.
If you want certain things to stand out, such as the high percussion you have coming in periodically, then maybe you should make that even stronger.
I think it could benefit from some kind of disturbing sound that rips through it. Your track is like some kind of interpretation of silent brooding to me and the scary vibe would be complemented some kind of sharper disturbance. Are you familiar with Shackleton's Blood On My Hands? This is a good example of such an occasional disturbance in the midst of a relatively stable and quiet track. It signals change and also gives a DJ a great chance to adjust the mix. Another example of this would be Isolate by GummiHz.
Good work.

yo
nice track Fait, but to me, the different elements become quite repetitive. for instance, the pad-like sound that keeps fading in every bar. |

Nefardec:
Wow that is some really great advice, thank you so much. I agree with the fact that everything seems pretty distant and doesn't connect very well and doesnt seem to go anywhere (this is a recurring problem in my work).
I'll definitely work on this a lot more and hope it can improve.
MaliCavi: I noticed that a bit too, I think i'll try bouncing it to audio and time stretching it to drone it out and make it a bit more menacing and add some sort of filter automation to make it a bit more natural.
Thanks for the comments everyone |
