Im looking for stuff from guys like BT, PvD and Sasha from the early to late 90s. Also alot of the classic prog (POB, Evolution, The Forth, etc) Ive just started djing and purchasing tracks so I only use beatport at the moment. any suggestions for better stores with a more broader scope of releases?
edit: also, i searched about in the sticky and I didnt find this anywhere; is it worth paying the extra dollar for a .wav? i know the difference in sound is barely noticable on home systems but it definetly makes a difference on on a club set up. obviously im nowhere near that level yet but should I start buying in wav if I ever plan on playing out... or will mp3s do? |

| Most of the older stuff you're not going to find digitally, your best bet is vinyl, but then it's most likely going to cost an arm and a leg. |

alot of labels that classic tracks were released on have gone bust since
so the chances of ever finding them on digital sites are about zero. There are some older tracks available though. |

cd singles
compilations with full length unmixed tracks

| Yeah, alot of it will be hard to come by on digital but Ive been picking up a lot of older prog stuff (probably exactly the stuff your after) on vinyl from the discogs marketplace, really rather cheap too. |

ahhhhh....a man after my own heart. Unfiortunately a lot of peeps on this forum consider 2001 records "classic" or "oldschool" :haha:
Check out hard to find records in the UK for old vinyl, and their selection usually does cover all the old classics.
I bought a lot from them when I was still in the UK, but for you the shipping might be a bit painful. I would save up and buy a few at a time - they do deals for mutliple purchases.
I've picked up original releases of stuff like: be as one, flaming june, chinese burn, rendevous etc.
Stay the away from Dance Music Finder (if they are still about) in Birmingham. Bunch of jokers (in a bad way). I called and ordered a track (that to date I have not been able to find apart from an slightly scratched version) three times from them and after at least a weeks wait, I was given a different bull excuse (new phone lines being put in which messed up their orders, changed the carpets so no stock could leave etc etc.) every time. Other people gave money and never got a thing.
out of interest (mainly so I can be an anorak) what sort of tracks are you looking for. Maybe I can help? |

| I don't know if they have exactly what you want, but Beatport does have some older stuff from around '96. |
